Schedule Details
Day 1: Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu, where your adventure begins! Take the day to settle in, relax, and absorb the unique atmosphere of Nepal’s vibrant capital. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner where our female guide will introduce you to the itinerary for the days ahead, providing insights and tips to make the most of your experience.
Day 2: Kathmandu & Days for Girls
Our second day kicks off with a guided tour of Kathmandu's iconic sites. Together, we'll explore the city's cultural gems, including the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Kumari Palace, the revered Pashupati Temple, and the stunning Swayambhunath Stupa, known as the "Monkey Temple."
In the afternoon we’ll visit Days for Girls, Days for Girls is a non-profit focused on providing women and girls worldwide with safe, sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions through their "Days for Girls Kits." These kits help girls continue their daily lives without fear or shame during their period.
At Tours By Her, we support this initiative as a powerful way to keep girls in school and connect women globally. We're excited to partner with Days for Girls to offer a unique experience where participants can work alongside local women on a project that unites all involved.
Day 3: Chitwan
Today, we’ll journey by car or minibus, enjoying a scenic 5-hour drive to Chitwan. Arriving by afternoon, we’ll settle in and head out for an orientation walk around Chitwan’s main bazaar. In the evening, we’ll immerse ourselves in the vibrant Tharu Cultural Program, experiencing the unique traditions and dances of the local Tharu community.
Day 4: Chitwan
We’ll start the morning with an early visit to Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its remarkable biodiversity. Later in the day, we’ll share a meal with a local family, offering an authentic glimpse into Nepalese culture and customs.
Day 5: Pokhara
In the morning, we’ll set off by car for Pokhara, Nepal’s second-largest city and home to three of the world’s tallest mountains. After the journey, unwind with a peaceful evening boat ride on Phewa Lake, surrounded by stunning mountain views.
Day 6: Pokhara
For an unforgettable start, you may choose to wake up early (5am) to see the sunrise from Sarangkot, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding mountains. After breakfast, we’ll head out for a day of sightseeing, visiting Gupteshwar Temple, Devi’s Fall, the Sethi River, and the International Mountain Museum.
Day 7: Kathmandu
We’ll make our way back to Kathmandu, with an estimated travel time of 6-7 hours. Once we arrive in the evening, you’ll have some free time to explore or pick up any last-minute souvenirs. Later, we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner together, reflecting on your incredible journey through Nepal.
Day 8: Kathmandu
On our final day in Kathmandu, we’ll explore Bhaktapur, one of the world’s oldest cities, often referred to as an ‘open museum.’ We’ll visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, home to numerous temples and stunning architecture. We’ll also learn about the fascinating tradition of the living goddess, Kumari, a young girl selected and worshipped by the Hindu and Nepali Buddhist communities. After soaking in the culture, we’ll witness the daily life of local artisans, especially the potters. We’ll enjoy Juju Dhau, a famous sweetened yogurt specialty from Bhaktapur, before bidding farewell to this enchanting city.
